Formula TU Ostrava team presents its ninth model of racing car
Since September last year they have been diligently designing, testing, constructing and the result of their work was, as is tradition, presented at an event known as Rollout. The students involved in the project unveiled the ninth monopost.

On Friday 14 June, the Formula TU Ostrava team presented the Vector 09 race car, this time for the first time in the representative premises of the small hall of the Gong auditorium in the Dolní Vítkovice area.

Compared to last year's model, there have been some major changes, and not only in the field of design. "We can say with exaggeration that we have learned from our mistakes and we are presenting a better car," said team captain Zdeněk Petera at the start. As explained by the heads of the various sections of the Formula team, the car's dynamic characteristics have been improved, for example, the weight of the aerodynamic assembly has been reduced by 4 kilograms or the hybrid drive has been introduced. Among the more technologically demanding passages was the production of the front and rear wings, which was carried out using the mould lamination method.

The students believe that the changes made will pay off at international Formula Student competitions in both static and dynamic disciplines. During the summer months they will be going to three of them. They will compete with other teams first in Austria at the famous Red Bull Ring, then return to the Czech Republic at the Autodrom Most. They will finish the season at the end of August with a race in Croatia.

The Formula team is made up of students from across the faculties of VŠB-TUO and, as the project's expert guarantor Associate Professor Robert Brázda adds, in addition to professional knowledge, they will also gain much-needed soft skills. "Not only will they improve their English, but they will learn how to communicate with each other and how teamwork works," says Associate Professor Brázda.
