The professional excursions were sponsored by the main partner of the Department of Power Engineering, ČEZ, so the participants first went to the nuclear power plant in Temelín. There, they could try out the simulator, 3D visualizations and get a glimpse into some sectors of the plant itself.
On the second day, the group was welcomed at Doosan Škoda Power, a company focused on the production of turbogenerators. The participants of the excursion visited both the production halls and the experimental laboratory. In the afternoon, the group of about thirty members moved to the operation and reactor hall of Škoda JS, which is one of the leaders in the European nuclear power industry. The Ostrava engineers-energeticians then finished their Tuesday programme with their Pilsen colleagues at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of West Bohemia.
Also on Wednesday, the group went to Škoda JS, this time to its Bolovec plant providing engineering, production, assembly and service of components for nuclear power plants. The three-day program concluded with a visit to the energy center of the National Theatre, where the participants learned about the new energy concept under the auspices of Skupina CEZ.
