We ended the post published last year with the words "DIAGO® 2023 is over, long live the DIAGO® 2024 conference". And after the end of this year's conference, we can say with pleasure that she really lived, which was confirmed by the words of thanks from the participants directly during the conference or the subsequent complimentary phone calls and e-mails.
The fact that we started the fifth decade of the DIAGO® 2024 conference with this year's 41st year was really binding. And this also corresponded to the preparation, which started practically already in the first half of 2023 by searching for a suitable location, approaching partners and requesting sponsorship of the conference.
The fact that the area of technical diagnostics, repair and maintenance of machines and production equipment has become part of the operation of every modern production company is also shown by the fact that apart from the traditional patronage of prof. RNDr. Václav Snášel, CSc., rector of VŠB-TUO and prof. Ing. Robert Čep, Ph.D., dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the DIAGO® 2024 conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, newly under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, and the Research, Development and Innovation Council also expressed its support at the last minute.
The event took place on February 6 - 7, 2024 for the first time at the FLORA hotel in Olomouc, i.e. in close proximity to the historical center of the Haná metropolis. We noticed at least two positive things from the point of view of interest about our conference. The first is the fact that interest in participation is not decreasing and we welcomed more than 155 participants from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The second is the fact that a generational change is gradually taking place and young colleagues, with their knowledge, are a guarantee of the development and further deployment of technical diagnostics in the monitoring of machinery with all the positive effects on their operational reliability and maintainability.
We can also apply the note about generational change to two of "our" students of the 2nd year of the NMgr. studies in the specialization S03 - Technical diagnostics, repairs and maintenance, study program N0715A270037 - Engineering Design, who also had the opportunity to participate in the DIAGO® 2024 conference. We hope, that they were also satisfied and will not slander us anywhere.
